Burner Atelier -Activewear Care Guide
Care for your pieces well and they'll perform and look their best for every session.
Washing Machine wash cold (30°C) on a delicate or sportswear cycle. Turn garments inside out before washing and use a mesh laundry bag to protect fabrics and seams. Wash with similar colours and fabrics, and wash promptly after sweating to prevent odour buildup.
Detergent Use a gentle, sport-specific detergent in a small amount — excess residue traps odour. Avoid fabric softener, as it coats synthetic fibres and reduces moisture-wicking performance. Avoid detergents containing bleach, enzymes, or optical brighteners. A splash of white vinegar in the rinse cycle neutralises odour naturally.
Drying Air dry flat or hang in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. If using a dryer, use the lowest heat setting only — high heat degrades stretch fibres over time. Never wring or twist; gently press out excess water.
Storage Store folded or laid flat rather than hanging, which can stretch fabrics over time. Allow garments to air briefly after wear before storing, and keep away from rough surfaces, velcro, or open zips in the wash.
Fabric notes Compression fabrics should always be washed cold, as heat breaks down elastane. Mesh and open-knit pieces should always go in a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging. Ribbed and textured knits should be reshaped while damp and dried flat to maintain their structure. For printed or logo details, always wash inside out to protect surface finishes. Grip socks should be hand washed or machine washed cold and air dried to preserve the grip dots.
Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean any Burner Atelier pieces.
